Jennifer is the owner and head trainer at Wag. She is originally from Nova Scotia and after living in the Northwest Territories for a few years she moved to Amherst with her husband and daughter. She has had dogs all her life and shares her passion for animals with her sister who is a Veterinarian. She is one of only a handful of certified trainers in NS with the Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA) and is a long time instructor of Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid. While living in the NWT she was an active volunteer with the SPCA and is also a frequent supporter of the LA Animal Shelter. She is a strong advocate of force free and positive reinforcement training in the daycare, in classes and in private training at Wag. She enjoys pursuing continuing education to expand her dog training skills and working with her deaf French Bulldogs Cami and Fae.

Victoria.jpg

Victoria is a British Columbia native who has lived in the Amherst area since 2000. She lives with her fiancé, their three dogs and their cat. She began working at Wag in October 2015.

Animals have always played a big part of Victoria’s life. For as long as she can remember, Victoria has had some type of animal following her around. She has had a lab mix, multiple golden retrievers, as well as many pet birds including chicken, cockatiels and budgies. She has also had pet fish, hamsters and cats, just to name a few.

Victoria was involved in 4H for many years and could often be found at her aunt’s house, on the farm or on the exhibition grounds.

Since working at Wag, Victoria has successfully completed the Walks and Wags Pet First Aid taught by Jennifer. She has attended an aggression seminar as well as a course called “Managing Large off Leash Play Groups” and is always seeking to broaden her knowledge in the animal industry.

In her spare time, she enjoys doing crafts, shopping, playing games, teaching her dogs new tricks, and spending time with her friends and family.
